v have transferable management skills and past employment or business ownership experience;
v meet minimum language requirements equivalent to a CLB/NCLC 4 (link is external); and
v intend to live and work in PEI while providing day-to-day active and ongoing management of your PEI-based company.

This stream is for foreign nationals with extensive management or business-ownership experience who would like to invest in and participate in the management of a PEI business.

3. Prince Edward Island Expression of Interest System
The Office of Immigration has created a new Expression of Interest System. All foreign nationals interested in applying for permanent residency through the Business Impact Category, Express Entry or Labour Impact Category must create an account and profile through our on-line Expression of Interest System. If you are using a representative, they must submit a profile on your behalf.
How does the new Expression of Interest System work?
Immigration through the Prince Edward Island through Business Impact Category, Express Entry or Labour Impact Category is a three-step process:
vStep 1: Create an account and submit your profile in the Expression of Interest system
vStep 2: The highest-scoring qualified candidates with a connection to Prince Edward Island are invited to submit an application to the PEI PNP
vStep 3: Following a thorough review of the paper application submitted to the Office of Immigration, Prince Edward Island nominates successful candidates to make a separate application to the Government of Canada for permanent resident visas for you and your family.

4. Work Permit Stream
If you are interested in immigrating to Prince Edward Island and would like to invest in and run a business, you may be eligible for a nomination for permanent residency through the Work Permit Stream of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). This stream is for foreign nationals with business ownership or extensive management experience who would like to move to PEI to start their business, and eventually become a permanent resident.

To be eligible for nomination through the Work Permit stream you must:
v have a minimum verifiable personal net worth of $600,000 which has been accumulated through legal and legitimate sources in your own right;
v have a minimum education of secondary school equivalent;
v be within 21-59 years of age at the time of application;
v have transferable management skills and past employment or business ownership experience;
v meet minimum language requirements equivalent to a CLB/NCLC 4and

The complete application package, along with all supporting documentation and the $10,000 application fee, can be submitted to the Office of Immigration.
Do I have to pay a fee?
There is no fee to create an Expression of Interest. If you are selected for nomination by PEI, the application fee is $10,000 CAD which must be submitted with your application. The acceptable forms of payment are a bank draft, a certified cheque, or a money order made payable to Island Investment Development, Inc.
If your file is not accepted, the entire fee will be refunded. If your file is declined or withdrawn prior to you being interviewed by our office, $7,500 will be refunded. If your file is declined or withdrawn after you have interviewed with our office, the entire fee is non-refundable. The acceptable forms of payment are a bank draft, a certified cheque, or a money order made payable to Island Investment Development Inc.

The Pilot is a two step process for employers, you must first become a designated employer and then submit a endorsement application for every foreign national you want to support through the program.

What is the process?
You must first identify a foreign national that you want to endorse through the program and complete the job offer template
. The foreign national must then approach an approved Settlement Service Provider
with a copy of their job offer and your designation letter and get a settlement plan prepared. You must then submit the job offer, endorsement application, and settlement plan to their office.
